I think most people that have actually used a Zune will agree that it was actually a decent music player but the problem was it wasn’t an iPod. The iPod just had too much momentum behind it and the Zune was too late to the game, even if it did have more features. As I see WP7 it, like the Zune, looks like it would have been an amazing product, had it been released sooner. Now it’s another follower. The iPhone has only been out for a little over three years but I wonder if it is already too late for WP7 to ever become a serious competitor. The more I see Windows Phone 7 videos and play with the emulator, I wonder if WP7 will fall into that same pit the Zune fell into.
Personally I hope it does become a competitor, but I think it’s target should be Android market share, not iPhone. Android is OS competing with the Windows Phone OS. Android is the one that is competing for license fees. Android is the OS that OEM like HTC, Samsung, and Motorola have moved to from Windows Mobile.
And just a little flashback, because I love watching this video now.
